That ...Hi Dina

I know that T intersection very well. That is New Str and Zurrieq Road. It has changed a bit since 1950. New Street is a very narrow street and way back the Birzebbuga buses used to come up the steep road and do a very sharp right hand turn into Zurrieq Road.

Nowadays traffic is only one way down. The building on the corner where you can see the Street Signs on the wall used to be a winery and at the start of WW2 the Police Station was moved from Pretty Bay Road to this corner building. So the place was a Cop Shop and a place to buy wine. You had to take your own empty bottle and have it filled.

To be correct, this photo makes the road seem narrow. The top part of the road as seen in this photo is very narrow but only that section.* berzy *https://www.blogger.com/profile/12597913796884654169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34533174.post-8904392248240609852007-07-11T20:30:00.000+02:002007-07-11T20:30:00.000+02:00Ruth, it is more common to find gardens in the old...Ruth, it is more common to find gardens in the older houses, the modern buildings have yards, and these too are getting harder to find.Dinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08915306323006971277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34533174.post-12582821036588661102007-07-11T19:40:00.000+02:002007-07-11T19:40:00.000+02:00Do people not generally have gardens as space is s...Do people not generally have gardens as space is so limited?RUTHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11389012059140660415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34533174.post-3575598131826633802007-07-11T18:07:00.000+02:002007-07-11T18:07:00.000+02:00c'est vraiment typique des rues méditerranéennes q...c'est vraiment typique des rues méditerranéennes que l'on retrouve dans le sud de la France

it is really typical Mediterranean streets which one finds in the south of FranceOlivierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00602980523811128510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34533174.post-58745551052214951012007-07-11T15:19:00.000+02:002007-07-11T15:19:00.000+02:00what's the thick cord going across the road in the...what's the thick cord going across the road in the fore front of the photo ?inspiredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03924600343516866189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34533174.post-7210316492964220922007-07-11T12:39:00.000+02:002007-07-11T12:39:00.000+02:00This is an area where people live.
