Happy Birthday to Nannu Maurice!!

Is "nannu" Maltese for grandfather? That's what my mother called her Sicilian grandfather, but I wonder if he was in fact of Maltese descent because we don't know other Sicilians or Italians who called their grandfathers "nannu." Please share comments. Thanks!

Anonym, yes 'Nannu' is the word for grandfather in Maltese , in Italian however it is 'nonno'.
