St. Peter's Parish church in Birzebbuga

Building on this Church started in the 1926 and was finished in 1951. The first ever statue of St.Peter for this church was paid by Carmelo Asciak and built in Rome during the 1947. This is the Parish Church of my home town. Photo was taken yesterday evening.

Nice shot Dina

Brings back many memories. During WW2 only half the roof was completed, so we used to sit in the open air on these huge concrete beams. The Parish Priest / il - Kappillan was Dun Anglu Fenech he used to come to us and telling us to go inside but the front section near the altars used to be full-up.

During 1992 while I was on a visit I went right up by the bells and took some great shots of the village and the Bay. I think I counted 106 steps to get by the bells.

I am planning another visit.
