The fruit and vegetable store at the corner

This is a typical vegetable shop which you can find all over malta in the towns and villages. Fresh fruit and vegetables can be bought on Monday evenings and Thursdays. Some also sell their vegetables from their vans (will post a photo of that too).

Open only twice a week?

How nicely painted this shop is. Looks really cosy to get your vegetables and fruits from there.

Peter, no they open daily morning and afternoon, it's just that the freshest fruit will be in store on those days.
Reddragon, glad you like my blog.
Carin, it can be a bit too small when there are more than 5 persons in the shop !

That is what I would like, a local fresh fruit and vegetable market. We have a Farmer's Market in the summer, but it is way across town, and I can never seem to get over there.

I like that they are there and available with fresh food. Nice photography.

Very nice photo! Nice to see small independent grocers succeeding!

Sadly most of our grocers shops have closed down now as the major supermarkets have taken all their trade.

I wish we had nice veggie stands like that here in the States. Instead we only have farmers markets on occasion.
