The Street that leads to nowhere

This road has some pretty nice houses , it is a dead end road.

........narrow is the road that leads to life and only a few find it.

I think I know where that street is situated. It is at the top end of Zebra Street and I think just about opposite to where the Belle Isle Theatre used to be in the late 1940s.

I thik there is a general / food shop about opposite the street.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Berzy - you've got an amazing memory, it took me ages to realise which street it was!

Yes it's the end of St.Edward Str., where most of the Seabreeze family live and also Dr.Baldachinno.

The food shop is now closed but moved just up the road. There is also a butcher's shop there.

Thanks for a positive reply.

Many years ago c1950 the Savona family lived there and owned the open air Belle Isle theatre and the skating ring which was built during WW2. I remember the Stage Commandos Comedy Group performing at the open air stage. This was adjoining the beautiful skating ring which operated from 1945 onwards.
When the Lido Theatre was built c1947 the skating ring was closed. The Azzopardi family also lived there. One of the men from that family was a clerk at the Bbuga Local Council.

Some of that family still live in Zebra Str. I have a photo of the butcher shop you mentioned.
