I can't imagine living in an area with the ocean next door or with large ships and fish farms in the neighborhood. It must be nice. You are sure taking some interesting photos.

An interesting scene :o)Do they farm one specific type of fish?

I think they mainly farm "silver bream" known in maltese as "awrat". It is a white fish and has very tasty tender and juicy flesh. It's great grilled with just a drizzle of olive oil, lemon juice and garlic.
Abe - our island is right in the centre of the Mediterranean sea, not in the ocean, but still we are very lucky to be surrounded by a beautiful sea.

To see the commercial port and the fish farm together is hopefully a good sign, with regard to (no) pollution!

Hi Dina,
I enlarged the (great shot!) photo but my question is " what are all those things in the background? are those cranes???"

Anyway big boats can cross there, wide waters , wow!

JoAnn :)

joann, yes those are cranes that lift up containers from the ships and loads them onto the ground and vice versa.
