‘Pitrolju’ - Kerosene

IMG_4206 Stitch

This Kerosene seller has been coming  to our street  for more than 36 years .  Selling Kerosene, sometimes spelled kerosine also known as paraffin  commonly used as a heating fuel.  Nowadays he also sells household detergents such as bleach and toilet paper.  He comes nearly twice a week and with a hoot and a signature shout calling ‘Pitrolju’  you’ll know he has arrived.

Unfortunately another dying tradition!!! It always reminds me of my childhood as I was fascinated by all the items hanging from the truck...brooms, candles, dusters, etc!

Hello Dina,
I like your comments a lot and above all such things you would never come to know as a stranger like the pitrolju.
So I regret a lot that your other blog dinaplanet is private now and I cannot visit it any longer.
I am a big fan of Malta!
Greetings,
Georgia

Hello Dina,
that are good news, thank you. I am curious to see the new design.
By the way, I am from Germany (near Cologne) and I lived two years in Trier where you spent your holidays.
We have been to Malta 7 times so far and it is always worth a journey.
Greetings,
Georgia
