Whilst shopping this morning for vegetables at my local vegetable man, my son saw 'il-bebbux' snails in maltese. Here in Malta after the first rains alot of people go in fields to catch the snails, they fast them for some time and after they clean them in salt water or sea water. When all this is done they are cooked , boiled with herbs and wine and also as a salad with lots of garlic, fresh, tomatoes, basil and olive oil.

And oh how we love snails here too! Your son was smart to point them out!
eric, I was going to mention that the french do escargot aswell, maybe you can let us know how the french cook them!!!
I never eat snails. It sounds delicious though.
dina...lots of garlic, lots of garic!
I think snails must taste better fresh and well cooked...
Whenever I had them in England or Germany it was like eating ruber tyres cooked in garlic!
